Our class will use A SAFARI Notebook to help us learn how to keep our materials organized all year! No more lost notes, lost homework, lost important school notes, or missing money!  No more looking the house up and down to find paper to write the teacher a note! Everything is kept in one notebook!

 I hope you will find this folder to be helpful in staying connected to the classroom.  It is a wonderful way to communicate with me.

The SAFARI Notebook will contain several different sections. Please check this book every day as items are put in daily.

These are the items you will find in your child's SAFARI Notebook:

Zipper Pouch- This is where students put lunch money, book orders, fundraising money, etc.

Behavior Sheet- Please initial this sheet daily indicating that you have seen your child's behavior sheet.

Reading Log- Please record books read at home each night.

Newsletter- Each week, I will send a newsletter with information about skills we're working on, projects, and important dates.

Homework/Communication Folder- The left hand pocket has your child's homework. Please return in this pocket when completed. The right hand pocket will have important notes from the school office as well as classroom information.

Parent Communication Section- Here you will find notebook paper to write me notes. I will reply to your note as soon as I can.  I will highlight the note to indicated that I have read your note.  Please leave all paper with notes and blank sheets in the notebook.

SAFARI Notebook  Do's!

Please take very good care of your SAFARI Notebook. It will be used all year.

Please clean out the 'super-duper papers to keep' every night.

Take your SAFARI Notebook home every day and bring it with you to school every morning.

Keep your SAFARI Notebook clean. Please do not eat or drink while using it.

Each day, show your SAFARI Notebook to your parents. This is your responsibility.

SAFARI Notebook Don'ts!

Please do not make any marks or drawings on your SAFARI Notebook.

Please do not leave your SAFARI Notebook at home, at daycare, on the bus, or in the car. 

Please do not let others tear any pages out of your SAFARI Notebook.

Please do not put any papers that do not belong in your Notebook.
